Solo Show Oct. 26-Nov. 9

Drinkwater’s Cambridge is hosting Sea E[Scapes], a solo show of my Impressionist painting from Oct. 26-Nov. 9, 2019. The opening reception is scheduled for Oct. 30 from 6-8 p.m., and everyone is welcome to come by for art, conversation, light refreshments and a peek at Drinkwater’s fall lineup of thoughtfully designed and selected men’s clothes.

Several new paintings will be on exhibit for the first time. This is my first non-studio show since I began working primarily on larger canvases – 24” x 24” and 36” x 36”. The challenges of working larger are more than compensated for by the opportunity for exuberant gestures and mark making. Moving paint around on 9 square feet of real estate is very different from doing the same thing on 64 square inches, and the results are quite distinctive. But those who enjoy the smaller works will not be disappointed as a dozen or so of those will be on the walls as well. As will be some 20” x 20” framed canvases.

I am grateful to Gary Drinkwater and his wife, Teresa, for this opportunity to show my work in such a sophisticated setting right in my own neighborhood. I look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones on the 30^th!
